Now, I know 20th century American authors get confusing. There was both a Carver and a Coover, both with first names beginning with R. There was both a William Gass and a William Gaddis. You add in the fact they both wrote postmodern metafiction and anyone might start to lose their way. One would think, however, that on the Amazon page selling William Gass's The Tunnel... that there at least—of all places—they might not mistake one for the other...
